My first IT assignment was walking into offices and replacing typewriters with computers.
That was 33+ years ago. I've been in this industry through every major shift since — DOS to Windows, dial-up to cloud, spreadsheets to AI. I hold a BS in Computer Science and an MBA in Technology Management, and I spent 16 years teaching at the University of Phoenix, which taught me something no certification can: how to explain tech to people who didn't grow up wanting to use it.
I'm also a GenX woman. I know exactly what it feels like to use technology because you have to — not because you want to.
Why I Built the Digital S.P.A.®
Here's the part most consultants won't tell you: knowing tech and knowing how to run a business using tech are completely different things.
I learned that the hard way. Years into running Structure Over Chaos, I found myself successful but struggling. Making money but constantly fighting my own systems. The wake-up call came when I realized I was spending more time managing my tools than serving my clients.
So I stopped forcing my business into someone else's template and started building systems around how I actually work. That became the Digital S.P.A.® framework — Software, Processes, Automation, in that order.
Now I do the same thing for women like us: attorneys, CPAs, realtors, and coaches who are brilliant at what they do and done with tech that makes them feel otherwise.
